This is a protest against the hidden use of plastic in clothing, and the anti-environmental laws that allow it to happen.
The government must act to end the clothing industry’s addiction to plastic use.
We want producers to be made accountable for the undeclared plastic in all clothing.
And of all our clothes, socks are least likely to be reused, and first to be binned.
So they’re the focus of our campaign.
Instead of waving a banner, we made a sock.

wear the sock

Protest Sock is making a positive change to what we know.
Commercially produced socks contain plastic. But UK law allows labels not to declare it.
If we don’t know when there’s fossil fuel derived plastic in our socks, we can’t reduce their environmental impact on the planet.
Join the campaign for full and honest disclosure of all materials used in clothing and textiles.

We all need socks. Let’s make them a powerful force for change.
The protest sock is warm, snug and designed for disruption.
